(ON) Inclusive Data, Inclusive Care: Collecting SOGI, Race, and Ethnicity Data in New Jersey

P.L. 2021, c 454 was enacted on January 18, 2022 and requires any general acute care hospital staff that collects race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity information for any reason to take an evidence based cultural competency training every two years.
After completing this online module you will be able to understand the value of collecting demographic data and impact it has on health outcomes and respond to common questions that may be raised by staff, patients, and loved ones related to LGBTQ+ inclusion and creating a welcoming community for all. You will be able to navigate discomfort when asking inclusive intake questions and use affirming and inclusive language when collecting demographic data.
